Judging Process
Two categories are being awarded this year.
PATA Young Tourism Entrepreneur award
Entries are non-scorable and awarded at the judges discretion. The judges will consider the entrant’s service to the tourism industry, their commitment to the development of tourism and their vision of future tourism in New Zealand.
Finalists will be announced in early September and a winner will be announced on 2 October 2012.
The Award provides significant career development opportunities
With the support of the Aviation, Tourism and Travel Training Organisation (ATTTO):
- the winner will receive a cash prize of $2,500 and a no charge scholarship to a major course - either the ATTTO National Certificate in Tourism Aotearoa or the ATTTO National Certificate in Business, First Line Management.
- the two runners up will also be eligible for one of the ATTTO no charge courses.
Horwath HTL Sir Jack Newman award
Entries are by nomination that are non-scorable and awarded at the judges’ discretion. Judges may select people other than those nominated.
The judges will consider the nominee’s service to the tourism industry, their commitment to the development of tourism and their vision of future tourism in New Zealand.
A winner will be announced on 2 October 2012.
